AI-Assisted Mastery Lab (Thursdays)

Personalized Learning • Movement • Small-Group Support

A focused Thursday extension designed to help learning stick.

Children Using Laptops

What Is the AI-Assisted Mastery Lab?

The AI-Assisted Mastery Lab is a two-hour Thursday session designed to give students time and support to revisit, strengthen, and master skills introduced earlier in the week during our core learning day.

Rather than introducing new academic content, Thursdays focus on reinforcement, confidence-building, and deeper understanding. Students use carefully selected adaptive learning tools that respond to their individual progress quietly identifying learning gaps, reinforcing developing skills, and allowing advanced learners to move forward at an appropriate pace.

Students are not chatting with AI or using open-ended tools. The technology simply adapts to each child’s responses while teachers actively circulate, observe progress, and receive feedback that helps guide small-group instruction and meaningful follow-up conversations. Screen time is intentionally brief and balanced with movement, discussion, and hands-on learning so children stay engaged without feeling overwhelmed.

We use adaptive learning tools to meet each child where they are, while teachers provide small-group instruction, coaching, and hands-on reinforcement.

How the Session Is Structured

Each two-hour session follows a consistent, child-centered flow:

  • Arrival & Regulation Play
Students begin with light movement and social connection to help regulate their bodies and prepare their minds for learning.

  • Focused Adaptive Learning – Block 1 (approx. 15 minutes)
A short, personalized learning session focused on either math or literacy using adaptive tools that adjust to each child’s level.

  • Movement Reset
Students engage in intentional movement to reset their brains before returning to focused work.

  • Focused Adaptive Learning – Block 2 (approx. 15 minutes)
A second short mastery session, typically in the opposite subject area (math or literacy).

  • Teacher-Led Small Groups & Choice Stations
Teachers pull small groups for hands-on instruction, strategy support, and targeted reinforcement while other students engage in choice activities.

  • Application & Social Learning
Students apply what they practiced through collaboration, projects, discussion, or problem-solving.

  • Reflection & Closing Circle
The session ends with reflection, celebrating growth and setting goals in a calm, connected way.

Purposeful Use of Adaptive Learning Tools

We use adaptive learning tools to personalize instruction—not to replace teachers.

These tools:

  • Adjust to each child’s skill level

  • Provide immediate feedback

  • Allow students to practice at their own pace

  • Help teachers identify where support is needed most

Students spend approximately 25–35 minutes total using adaptive tools, broken into short, focused sessions.

Screen time is limited, intentional, and always paired with teacher-led instruction and hands-on learning.

The Role of Movement

Our Thursday sessions take place in a trampoline park environment, and movement is a core part of the learning design.

Movement:

  • Supports attention and emotional regulation

  • Helps students return to learning calm and focused

  • Encourages healthy social interaction

  • Makes learning joyful and sustainable

Movement is not a reward or free time—it is an intentional part of how we support learning.
